What is important to me are "the good things in life”, I surround myself with them. For me, the good things are those things which carry memories and connect me to those I love. For years I wore my father’s watch as a reminder of him always being with me. I keep one of my mother’s fountain pens at my desk. On my kitchen counter is the worn, and possibly older than me, drip coffee pot my grandfather used daily when he served my grandmother coffee first thing in the morning. I still cook with a well seasoned iron skillet from her kitchen. 

And then there are the pictures throughout our home. Parents, siblings, nieces & nephews each taking me or my wife back to an earlier time in our lives. Walking past my mother’s picture each day, knowing she is always near, I remember her laugh.

Creating beautiful portraits of my clients and their families also brings me joy. Listening to discover the people, places and activities that hold special meaning to them, then telling their story in a portrait. These works of art, displayed lovingly, become some of their “Good Things” to be cherished.
